What am I trying to say here? Censura means Censorship in Portuguese, and, basically I was trying to say that censorship is like violence, the girl has been censored, and so she can't speak or see anything... she's tormented, in pain, etc.

I see a lot of images like this on DevART - usually a photo of a woman with some sort of violence being done to her... when I see pics like this, it makes me wonder what the intent is... what exactly was the artist trying to say? It makes me think about all the horrifying images of war and violence and destruction we are exposed to... It makes me think about the history of Western art, where the intent was always to uplift and glorify humanity....and the fact that hundreds of thousands of artists all over the world today are chosing to create images of pain and violence and degradation...

anyway, it's a powerful image and you really know your Photoshop!

Ooooh this on eis pretty cool. The whole concept is well executed in this piece. In a way censorship really is like violence. The things we censor out alot of the time often do more harm than good. What makes them bad is the censorship. Like cuss words are bad because we choose to give them that power.
